One great advantage in undergoing study in Australia is the opportunity to work during your studies. Working allows you to gain more professional experience, for language practice which is critical to the success of the exchange, and the ability to more easily afford your living expenses whilst in Australia. It is important to note however, that there are rules imposed by Immigration that must be adhered to. Students may work up to but no more than 20 hours per week during the study course term, but without limitation of time on the vacation period between terms. This allows you the opportunity to enjoy part-time or casual employment which is related to your course, or in several other areas such as Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Agriculture and more.
To assess the constraints and requirements imposed by the Immigration Department visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Education DownUnder supports our students in preparing their resumes and advises on how best to apply them in the marketplace, offering you support and professional advice in conducting those courses and which certificates are required in specific sectors.
